We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales by developing relationships with key clients in the mining sector and providing technical consultation on products and solutions.
The role requires a blend of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and sales expertise to effectively match mining engineering solutions/products with customer needs and ensure satisfaction. Role will also require extensive travels as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Sales Support
- Provide expert technical consultation to clients regarding mining equipment, solutions, and services.
- Work closely with the engineering team to understand product specifications and convey these effectively to clients.
- Present detailed product information, including features, specifications, and applications, in a way that addresses customer concerns and highlights product value.
- Business Development
- Identify potential clients in the mining industry and develop strategies to approach and establish business relationships.
- Maintain and grow a network of contacts within the mining sector to generate leads and create sales opportunities.
- Conduct market research to understand trends and client needs, adjusting strategies to remain competitive.
- Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve sales targets and contribute to the company’s revenue goals.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales strategies.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals, negotiate terms, and close sales contracts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide accurate quotes, timelines, and delivery information to customers.
- Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
- Respond to client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to Technical and engineering teams for solution improvement and innovation.
- Product Knowledge & Training
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mining engineering and related technologies.
- Conduct training sessions for clients to ensure proper understanding and usage of the company’s products.
- Participate in trade shows, conferences, and industry events to showcase products and expand market reach.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A business or sales certification is a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years in a sales or technical sales role within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mining equipment, machinery, and solutions.
- Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Software: Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and technical software related to mining equipment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.
